Knife Attack On Train in Japan Leaves 17 Injured

On Saturday, February 16, a knife attack took place on a train in Takashimaya Station, Japan.

According to Sky News, authorities had to deploy security personnel to put out a fire on the train after the stabbing which happened at around 3:30 am local time.

A Japanese man, who has not been identified, reportedly jumped onto the train and stabbed the passengers.

Authorities reportedly responded to the incident within minutes of the incident starting.

According to the New York Post, 17 people were injured and six of the people have been taken to the hospital. One of the injured women has reportedly lost a leg and was said to be in critical condition.

The suspect reportedly remains at large and he is also thought to be armed with a semi-automatic gun.

The suspect is described as a man of about 30 years old.
