How riots, air raid drills and school cuts are having a chilling effect on the gay community

I think we need to remember that this occurred in 2006 and 2016, and you know what they were saying at the time? There was no pandemic. We were so heavily criticized for how we handled this.

And that — what they didn’t tell us at the time was that 26 percent of this group is still in the New York City public school system. And that is — you know, let’s not just say this doesn’t matter. They’re people who are today or two years ago living in New York City.

That is a whole community that’s being trained to hate our country. And it is not a healthy thing for the health, financial stability and everything that we have that everyone be raised to love this country. And we really need to rethink this now.

And it isn’t as simple as, you know, maybe if we’re going to forget about them we can sort of smooth everything over. It is actually a moment of truth and you know what? The New York City public school system isn’t going to love America until we teach them to love the United States of America.
